Dear Lafayette Art Association Members,
I am writing to share some exciting news about the future of the Lafayette Art Association. After careful consideration and planning, we will be moving from our current location at 1019 Auburn Avenue to a new venue that promises to bring renewed energy and opportunity to our organization. This exciting new chapter will place LAA firmly within the heart of Lafayette's downtown cultural community, providing greater visibility and accessibility to both local residents and the many visitors who come to enjoy our wonderful city. Our final day at our current location, 1019 Auburn Avenue, will be Friday, July 31, 2026. As we prepare for this transition, we look forward with enthusiasm to the opportunities that await us in our new home. While we are not quite ready to announce all of the details publicly, please know that your Board of Directors has been working diligently to ensure that this transition positions Lafayette Art Association not only to survive, but to thrive and flourish for years to come. I ask for your patience and your trust as we finalize plans and prepare to share more information. Keeping our members informed is our first priority, and you will continue to receive updates before we make public announcements. To provide an opportunity for us to gather, answer questions, and discuss this exciting transition, we have reserved meeting space at the Main Library in downtown Lafayette for a Membership Meeting. Membership Meeting Wednesday, July 8, 2026 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Main Library – Downtown Lafayette The Lafayette Art Association & Gallery (LAA) is dedicated to promoting, encouraging, and supporting the visual arts in Acadiana. By providing free gallery spaces, educational workshops, and community events, LAA champions local artists while enriching the cultural spirit of the broader community. As we embark on this exciting new chapter, we remain committed to this mission and inspired by the possibilities that lie ahead. Thank you for your continued support, enthusiasm, and belief in the Lafayette Art Association. Together, we are building a vibrant future for our organization and expanding our role in the cultural life of our community. I look forward to sharing more details with you soon and to seeing you on July 8.

 With appreciation,
Cathy Mills, President

The Lafayette Art Association (LAA) has been an art venue for the Acadiana community for more than 60 years. We showcase exhibits featuring local artists and unique exhibits highlighting remarkable groups in our area. Hands-on workshops and classes and social times such as ‘Let’s Paint Together’ and ‘Cookies, Coffee and Conversation’ bring people together to enjoy, learn from, and participate in the visual arts. People from all over the world come to our doors to see what we have to offer. Won’t you join us?
