The Lafayette Art Association member artists and photographers, as well as nationally recognized visiting artists, offer many excellent workshops and classes during the year for both LAA members and non-members. These workshops include painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor), drawing, multimedia, sculpture, jewelry, glass, precious metal clay, wood, and many other artforms.
If you are interested in learning or improving your arts or crafts knowledge and techniques, LAA is your Lafayette area source for classes presented by some of Acadiana’s best professional artists. Many workshops are sponsored each year and new ones are constantly added as they develop. Please keep in mind that these workshops fill up fast so register ASAP to be sure of a reserved place. You will definitely find these classes most enjoyable, very educational, and certainly worthwhile.

• PMC with Paula McDowell:
PMC Open Studio 2/15/12, 1-7pm
LAA members $20/ Non members, $30.
Tools, textures & supplies available for use during session. Fire your pieces during the session with the hand held butane torch (if appropriate) or in the LAA’s kiln. NO formal instruction. Drop in any time during the session. Need more PMC or specialized supplies? Let Paula know prior to the open studio.
Intro to PMC 2/25 9:30am-4:30pm
Create beautiful jewelry as you learn all about Precious Metal Clay (Silver) during this 6 hour class (with lunch break). Instructor will provide some tools and supplies. Beginning Botanicals 3/9 & 3/10/12
A one or two day watercolor workshop (your choice!) at the LAA with award winning New Orleans artist, Robert Gutherie introducing techniques of painting florals and botanicals for beginners to practiced painters! • Valerie Stewart Portrait Painting Seminar 2/9-2/12/12
