LAA Main Gallery

All exhibits are free and open to the public.

The Lafayette Art Association member artists and photographers, as well as nationally recognized visiting artists, present many wonderful exhibits and shows during the year which are open free to the public. These exhibits include painting (oil,acrylic,watercolor), drawing, multimedia, sculpture, jewelry, glass, precious metal clay, wood, and many other artforms.

Many art exhibits are sponsored by LAA each year and new ones are constantly added as they are scheduled. Please support your local artists and photographers by visiting these exhibits and let them know how much you appreciate their talent and artworks. These are very impressive art shows by Acadiana’s best and you will surely enjoy browsing their beautiful works and meeting the artists.

• Main Gallery: Trying a Triad, Using 3 Colors or Shapes to Create Your Artwork 3/15/12 thru 5/15/12. Juried by committee, this is a members only, all media show. Up to (3) pieces may be entered, no fees. 2-D pieces must be framed (gallery wrapped canvases do not need a frame), black or white matts only (no colors); wire must be placed 1/3 distance from top. Entries must be ready for hanging with name, title and category  on backside. Submit Date: 2/28-3/6/12; Jury: 3/7-3/9/12; Hang: 3/13-3/14/12.
• Green Apple Gallery: A Modern Mix…Celebration of Wood & Water 3/8-4/25/12. Arthur McViccar & Angie Miller. Submit: 3/6/12

NOTE: Because of the addition of the Arts Market and an opportunity to take part in an international artist exchange with Quebec, the LAA’s 2012 Exhibit Calendar in the member directory will be changing. These upcoming changes will affect the following exhibit spaces: The Main Gallery (large open area in center and back hallway primarily featuring LAA member exhibits), Green Apple Gallery (entrance foyer, for special feature, 2- and 3-D exhibits), Green Apple Gallery West (large gallery space adjacent to business office, features 2- & 3-D artists)
